Here is the recipe handed down through the family
INGREDIENTS
6 regular TEA BAGS
2 cups boiling WATER
Good pinch of BAKING POWDER
1/2 TO 1 1/2 cups SUGAR
6 cups cold WATER
INSTRUCTIONS
Boil 2 cups WATER in a kettle
Pour boiling WATER over TEA BAGS
Let steep 15 minutes covered
Uncover and take out tea bags throw in a good pinch of BAKING SODA
When settled add SUGAR let stand for a minute or two to dissolve
Stir and add cold WATER
Set in fridge to chill, pour over ice and serve. NO LEMON this is DIXIE SWEET TEA

MAMA MOHEETO'S MOJITOS
Here is the bomb mojito from the neighborhood, enough to make 4 drinks (or two people very happy )
INGREDIENTS
12 fresh MINT SPRIGS
6 onces RUM ( light )
6 TB FRESH LIME JUICE
ICE
4 TB SUGAR
4 LIME SLICES
CLUB SODA
1 SHAKER
INSTRUCTIONS
Fill shaker with 8 MINT SPRIGS you have chopped and rub together into your SHAKER
Add RUM, ICE, SUGAR and LIME JUICE.
Shake well
Put a whole sprig of MINT in a clear glass and pour 1/4 of shaker contents into each glass.
Splash drinks with CLUB SODA
Garnish with a LIME SLICE
ENJOY!!
MY DAD'S ICED COFFEE
INGREDIENTS
Pot of COFFEE
1/8 CUP SUGAR
1/4 cup HALF AND HALF or CREAM
splash of ALMOND EXTRACT
ICE
SHAKER
INSTRUCTIONS
brew COFFEE take off heat and let cool for 1 hour
pour half of COFFEE into a shaker
add SUGAR, CREAM, EXTRACT and ICE
Shake well and pour into 2 tall glasses filled with 3 ICE CUBES
Garnish with a dollop of WHIPPED CREAM
SPRINKLE with what ever you have ( optional )
